Eddrick just celebrated his first birthday on Tuesday. We had a great time with my parents who drove up to spend time with us and we went to historic Jamestown and Williamsburg and then had burgers and cake at a park. I don't have those pictures yet, but I thought that I'd share some fun ones with you.

The big one year old!!! He loves sand.

My little adventurer at the lake.

My crazy Eddrick before his haircut.

Abigail loved saying "Oh dear!" to this deer.

Our favorite pastime: blowing on dandelions.

Here is my sweet family! I adore them so much!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful, hardworking, laugh-it-up, love em' while you have em', make each day special, kind of moms.

I'll tell you, I love my mom now more than ever because I realize just the sacrifice, commitment, hardwork and love that she poured into us six kids. Having two sick kids with high fevers right now makes me wonder how she did it with six. Having an unemployed husband who is trying his hardest to meet our needs makes me think of the many times my parents struggled, but the brave and happy face that my mom put on. That can be very hard to do!!(especially when those pregnant emotions are welling up in you!) She didn't just meet our immediate needs, she met our future needs in preparing us for womanhood and manhood.

Thankyou Mom, I love you!

*Update on Dad and Mom:    He's back home and doing great. He made it safely out of Cairo. Thank the Lord.  Mom is also healing up nicely and feeling much better. They are visiting us in a couple days which we look forward to.

Could I ask for your prayers?

My dear sweet husband has just lost his job. He was definetely "persecuted for righteousness sake". They did not like the fact that he was a christian, he would not take part in their discussions on immoral topics, he just tried to be a hard worker. He wouldn't go out to lunch with them because we couldn't afford it, but instead would sit in the break room or his desk, listen to christian music, read his bible, and call me and we would pray everyday. They said that he wasn't a "team member". It was the fact my husband was trying to be holy and blameless and his life was a conviction to these people who led shallow and ungodly lives.

I know that God is in control and maybe even wanted my husband out of there so that he wouldn't have to listen to them, and I know that God has something up His sleeve that is way better. But please pray that we find something soon as this comes at a difficult time.

Please also pray for my dad: He is stuck in Cairo, Egypt. His connecting flight to Rawanda was late and so he missed the flight. There aren't any other flights to Rawanda. So he's stuck in a hotel in one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Please pray for his safety and that he can get out of there soon.

Satan is definetely attacking my family lately with my mom's car crash, our unemployment and my dad's safety. Please pray that God's will be done. He is such a good God and our trust is in Him!

Update on my mom:
She is doing much better and is the car is repairable!! She said she's feeling a lot better and it's probably due to so many praying. Thankyou to everyone who prayed.

My daughter and I are enjoying ourselves right now, eating chocolate cookies and watching the rain and lightning and listening to the thunder.  All day I have been nesting. Doing absolutely insane things that I never do (or only when I'm pregnant!) Organizing closets, linen cupboards, children's clothes, clean the refrigerator, etc. I've also done laundry, dishes and the usual. Somebody stop me!

It's been fun having our friends visit from San Diego. We went up to Williamsburg for the day and they got to see some historical sights. Dianna and I have spent much time catching up and talking (kinda stayed up a little too late doing that!) But it's so fun. We also took them to a great seafood restaurant called "Harpoon Larry's Oyster Bar". It's amazing seafood at great prices and I ate some yummy crab legs!!It was sooooo tasty!
